What's your nightlife look like?

On those rare moments of down time, I love taking in all art events going on in our community from the Philharmonic to The Human Race Theatre and, of course, DCDC. But my adventures always have to either start with a fabulous meal at Wheat Penny, ROOST, Salar, Corner Kitchen or end with drinks and a spirited conversation with friends and family about all things art and culture. Living in Wright Dunbar means I live, work, and play in downtown. The convenience and ease of slipping into the District for drinks and burgers at Lucky’s and a movie at the NEON, cannot be beat!

What's your favorite place to or event for celebrating the holidays downtown?

I am always attending the opening night receptions at DVAC and their Holiday Gift Gallery is an incredible selection of carefully curated work by talented local artists. Then we head over to the Corner Kitchen or Roost for a late dinner and drinks.

If you want to stand out at a holiday party, what do you do?

For me it is all about dressing with individuality, breaking out the one-of-a-kind jacket in velvet, prints, or textures. Why should the ladies have all the fun! Go to as many events and art happenings in town, this gives you plenty starting points for fabulous conversations to go along with the festive attire.

If you're going to splurge, where do you go?

I believe every home should have at least one piece of original work of art. I cannot think of any better place that Gallery 510 to purchase that special and unique work of art created talented local artists.
